Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Dear Precious Prayer Partners,

The Christmas Season is gone and at the start of this New Year, we greet you in the NAME that is above every name. The one who came that we might have peace with God and the peace of God in our hearts. As we consider the Eternal consequences of what our Lord did and those of the faithful ones who followed HIM and continue to follow HIM then I can only rejoice and give thanks. We are thankful for each missionary who goes out and for each person who stays home and makes it possible. We rejoice in the commitment that we see to our Lord and to HIS Kingdom, not a Kingdom that is overwhelmed but a Kingdom that is invisible. A Kingdom that is growing often unnoticed in the hearts of men and women but is none the less a force to be reckoned with. The enemy sees signs of it as well and is always trying to discourage and frustrate it’s growth. We see evidence of this warfare in the work of Hands To Serve as well as in local churches and other mission organizations. People thinking that they are doing God’s will but their attitudes and actions often do not proclaim the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He is in control and we can better trust HIM and praise HIM than take actions that He would never take. Let us make certain that what we do is approved of by our Lord and not be mislead to do things which do not glorify HIS Name.

The mission work is often more than we can do and everyone who is involved here feels the pressure of the quantity of requests and materials that come in. The servants that our Lord brings here to serve are often put under pressure by the wonderful opportunities that come our way. The time that we could clear out a nine story office block of all of the unwanted office equipment, the twenty computers from another source, the material that just "walks in". These are all blessings but require a lot of work. The office equipment helped rejuvenate and build up different mission offices and a book shop in Belgium. The computers are going to both mission offices in Holland as well as to Africa and east block countries. The requests keep coming in, which is really good as we keep getting full to over flowing as many times we do not know where to put all of the materials that are donated. Space is a real problem, especially when missionaries return en mass to the mission field and ten of the sixteen cars that we loan out come back and we wonder "where are we going to park them"??? We cannot park many cars on the street outside of the mission as our neighbors want to park as well! My Bible tells me that I have to look after them. Please pray with us so that we can know God’s will in all of this. We need more storage space and we would ask you to pray with us for wisdom in this.

This past year has been a difficult one for the health of some of the team. Please continue to pray for Hannie as her sight has failed to the point that she cannot drive anymore. Both Maralyn and Gerrit still have pain in their knees. Oma works too hard and bruised her ribs by lifting sacks of clothing. She and Ria need help just as the rest of us do. Oma sees the work and does not want to leave it sit as it just gets to be a lot more and is overwhelming. We know that prayer is the only answer to see laborers moved out into HIS vineyard. Therefore we send this letter out asking you to join us in concerted prayer for solutions to our present worker situations.

We pray that you will be blessed mightily in this New Year. Lord willing, it will be a year full of opportunities for each of us to serve Him wherever we are. We want to thank each person who has prayed and each person who has sent a gift to enable us to keep serving. With out your prayers and your gifts we would not be here.

Serving Him together with all of you,

Steve & Sandy, Oma and Randy; Paul, Ruth and children, Doug, Hilda and children, Wilma, Ria, Gerben, Wim, Cor, Arthur, John, Hasso, Aart, Leny & Gerrit.

Some of the Blessing of 2006

  • Seventy missionaries used the mission’s 16 loan cars. None of them had serious accidents for which we thank the Lord.
  • Twenty shipments were sent for missionaries to various parts of the world - Uzbekistan, Tanzania, Angola, Papua New Guinea, Australia, The USA, Argentina, South Africa Burkina Faso, Senegal, Nicaragua, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
  • Tons of clothing were sorted and passed on to other groups . We received a report that a church in Rumania opened a second hand clothing shop and were able to sell enough clothing (that we provided) to support their pastor and to do some much needed building work on their church. This has lead to more people coming from the area and giving their hearts to Christ.
  • The computer department had more 100 requests for help during the past year; all the way from 30 computers for Brasil to how do I put a photo into my prayer letter.

  • Countless number of opportunities came our way to share about the Lord and to council those who came to visit or those who called.

  • Faithful supporters encouraged and blessed us as a team and as individuals.
